The academic experience in the United States, the United Kingdom or New Zealand is an incomparable asset in a training course. This experience is transformed over time into a real professional argument.

But why study in the United States, the United Kingdom or New Zealand? Find the 10 arguments that will make you jump ...

REASON N ° 1: High level university education
The English-speaking universities and the American university in the first place, are recognized internationally for the quality of their teaching, their equipment and their resources. The whole world wants and comes to study in the USA, the UK or New Zealand.
The American university has proved its worth: it trains a very large number of students, among whom there are more than 800,000 foreign students per year. A large part of the world elite has been trained on its benches (researchers, engineers, businessmen and women, intellectuals, etc.).
A study of the European "Think Tank" Bruegel, based on the ranking of Shanghai, places the European universities (with the exception of Switzerland or Sweden) very clearly behind the universities of the USA or England. Thus, American universities largely dominate the ranking of the 50 best universities in the world. Four American states (Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New York and California) even get a better ranking than the first of the European countries.
The various academic rankings published each year reach more or less the same conclusions, whether they are mainly focused on the training-research relationship (as for example the ARWU 2018 - Shanghai ranking) or more directly focused on the training capacities of universities (THEWUR 2019). Overall, only two or three major French schools are doing well.

REASON N ° 2: Resources and material resources
Thanks to public support and substantial private funding, studying at an American, British or New Zealand university allows students to benefit from exceptional facilities and particularly modern and adapted equipment.
The importance of resources is felt at all levels: student / teacher ratio, educational support, quality of equipment, quality of resources, etc.
These means are coupled with autonomy in three key areas: the budget, salaries and recruitments, thus ensuring a very efficient use of budgets and inducing a very high level of performance.
Total expenditure on higher education in the European Union does not exceed 1.3% of GDP while it amounts to 3.3% in the United States. The average expenditure per student in 2014 is € 8,700 and € 36,500 respectively!

REASON N ° 3: Demanding and diverse curricula
The English higher education system is distinguished by its requirement as much as by the diversity of its courses. The emphasis is on one side on specialization (with the ambition to strive for excellence) and on the other on versatility.
Typically, a student chooses a priority area of study (otherwise called "Major") and other areas of high school ("Minors"). In most universities, it is even possible to couple two main fields of study, for example "Art" and "Business".
Whatever the field of study chosen (in other words whatever the "Major"), the student benefits from a complete education. We note that to graduate, a student in "business" for example, will necessarily have to validate a minimum of courses in science and humanity.
The first two years of study are more specifically devoted to general education, with teaching more specifically focused on a common core of studies. This is why it is quite easy to consider a change of "Major" in the course of the first year (or even the second), without redoing a year.

REASON N ° 4: Another pedagogy
Unlike European methods, pedagogy in English-speaking universities does not rely on formal teaching. The latter is even marginal.
The priorities that underlie this educational system revolve around autonomy in the work and many readings and individual research. The priority of teaching is given to reflection and understanding. This other pedagogy, based on personal experience and the acquisition of knowledge, encourages increased and interactive participation during class. The objective is to develop in the student's observation, judgment and freedom of expression.
Pedagogy present in English-speaking countries is therefore very complementary to French pedagogy.

REASON N ° 5 : The assurance of mastering English on his return
The campus structure brings students to be totally immersed in an English and international atmosphere. English is THE language of communication. The benefit of studying in the USA, the UK or New Zealand is therefore maximum.
Once you have passed the first language barrier, students who study for one year at an American, English or New Zealand university - let alone several years - are sure to master the English language perfectly. In addition, they will have specific linguistic knowledge in their area of expertise. A mastery that will be precious to them throughout his life.
